Colder than a "Witch's Tit": a mixed drink recipe brought to you by the new intern

Image
And Intern… So I finally managed to parlay my dream of coming down here to Witch’s for more than a 10 day stay (usually followed by two weeks or 2years of dying to come back). So to celebrate my good fortune I thought that I might do you all a kindness in-tern… Whether you just got back from your surf vacation and you can't figure out how to readjust to your daily grind or you’re just hanging on by your finger nails until you can get back down to Witch’s, we all gotta’ cope somehow and drinking has always been my favorite. So here’s to you! The following is the recipe (semi-secret up to this point) for the Famous and sometimes infamous Witch’s Titt! So Crank up the heat in your house (85 to 95 should work) and boil up some water to get that humidity index up over 90% then follow the instructions below and I swear you can almost feel the ocean breeze… ------"mine!"------ What You’ll Need For 2-3 drinks: 4oz Rum (White or spiced it’s up to you, we use blanco) 1...

Seriously? Another post about Luis?

There are time times that is seems like we post a lot about Luis Castro. There is a reason for that. Last weekend (that of June 25th) he competed in the Gran Final CNS 2010. In plain English, the Grand Final for the National Circuit for Surfing down here. The dude came 3rd place. So, Felicidades Luis! If you are in Santa Teresa this weekend, you can see him compete for a $10,000 prize in the Luz de Vida Surf Challenge.

Felicidades Luis!!!!!!!!

The crew at Witch's Rock Surf camp is thrilled to congratulate Luis Castro on his recent win at La Copa Monster "Los Tombos Classic." Yana, our GM asked who he beat, the answer: "Everyone."

WRSC Christmas Party (two days ago, still hung over)

Image
2 days after the WRSC Staff holiday party and everyone is still talking about it. The mechanical bull. The endless bottles of rum. Salsa dancing, fresh mahi mahi, good friends and good times. Fortunately not too many bull riding injuries either... Thank you Hazel, Holly, Catalina, and everyone else who helped make this year's Christmas party a success!

Whale watching at Witch's Rock

Check out this family of whales! We took our eco-tourism intern Bruce along with two guests Jon and Ben on a day trip to Witch's Rock and Ollie's Point the day before Bruce left Costa Rica. Although the waves were small, it was such a typically beautiful Guanacaste day! We all came away with great memories.

New Toys for Rafa..

Check out my new hand held in-water camera. Just hanging out with the students, not bad after a week of lessons, they can almost hold their own! !Pura Vida! Rafael Sandoval WRSC Team

our new intern

this is Bruce. He's from France. For the next 3 months he's going to be working as an intern at WRSC, focusing on the sustainable tourism projects that I've been working on in my spare time. I'm am very stoked to have the help. Expect some great things from Zephyr Eco over the next few weeks....
