The surf is pretty small, and although it will hopefully be a little bigger this afternoon and tomorrow, by Sunday its probably going to only be about waist high. So.... with small surf... one considers what else one might want to spend one's time doing. I've got a suggestion. If you haven't heard of Switchfoot before, they are a multi-platinum band from San Diego, California. I went to college with Chad Butler and brothers John and Tim Foreman, the founding members. We all surfed Blacks Beach and Chad and I surfed on the UCSD Surf Team together. Switchfoot is SURF ROCK all the way, and not to mention they are really good guys. Nick from Common Sense stopped by Witch`s Rock last week and busted out a fun and casual acoustic set from his new solo album. We captured all the action from one locked off angle with a cheap videocamera while we drank beer and enjoyed the show. To spice up the footage, we cut in some of the best shots from the Big Swell that blessed our coast for most of last week. The swell reports all say more of the same is on the way this week! Guitarist, Surfer, and Renaissance Dude Bill MacPherson will be rocking the house tomorrow, Thursday July 1st, 2010 at Eat at Joe's Restaurant. Bill's music is as colorful as his life; influenced by his global travels and rich musical background. He was raised by medical missionary parents in Congo, speaks five languages, has a Master's Degree in Jazz Performance from San Diego State University, and currently calls San Jose, CR home. Come for happy hour at Sunset, then dig the sounds that Bill puts down at 7:00 PM.
